Beta Kidz
maintains a policy of strict confidence concerning your personal information. Our privacy policy has been
developed in accordance with the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 (the “Privacy Act”).
Collecting Personal
Information
All
information collected is for the purpose of providing consultancy and counselling services to you. Generally, we
will obtain personal information directly from you.
This will
include contact details and may include sensitive information such as health information. If we obtain
information about you without your knowledge and the law requires your express consent to obtain it, then you
will be contacted by us.
We may
also collect information from you if you subscribe to any of our regular newsletters.
Records of
early childhood consultancy and counselling will be kept. These will be stored separately from your
personal details, to ensure your privacy.
In
accordance with the law, counselling records will be held for a period of seven (7) years, after which time
will be permanently destroyed.
Web-Site and Cookies
You can
access and view the majority of our website without revealing information about yourself. The exception to
this is if you register and log in to access our services. A cookie is used solely for login
purposes.
For
statistical purposes, the server collects and stores the following information about visitors to the Beta Kidz
website:

website that linked you to the site
This
information is used to track the number of visitors to various areas of the site. It does not identify
individuals.
If you
provide us with your email address it is solely used to provide services you request and not provided to third

personal information we obtain helps provide an efficient consultancy and counselling service to you.
Confidentiality will be maintained in
most cases however from time to time we may be required to disclose information to third persons and the
following are examples of the circumstances in which we might be required to make such a disclosure:

if your files are subpoenaed
in accordance with the order of a court of law;

when it is judged that to
not disclose information to other’s may result in clear danger to you or your family or to
others;

when reporting of
information is required by law. Please note that under the Children and Young Persons (Care and
Protection) Act 1998, it is mandatory to report suspicions of child abuse and/or neglect to the relevant child
protection agency.
Due to the
nature of online consultancy and counselling, it is your responsibility to protect the privacy of information
that you receive, including any passwords and login information. You should take steps to ensure that your
sessions are kept private and confidential from observation by other persons.
Consultancy and counselling are intended
solely for your use. All information is tailored to meet your individual situation/circumstances and is
therefore not appropriate to be shared with others. If you wish to share information with other persons, prior
written consent must be obtained from Beta Kidz. You cannot, without permission alter or edit any
information received from Beta Kidz.
This
website and emails received by you may include surveys that seek your feedback on the services provided to you
by Beta Kidz. This information is used to improve our services and identify potential website and service
enhancements. By providing Beta Kidz with any information or ideas you acknowledge that Beta Kidz is free
to use this feedback for any purpose whatsoever, without any compensation to you.
Access
If access
to the information we may have concerning you is required, you may request to see what it is and if it is up to
date. This will be subject to any exemptions allowed under the Privacy Act.
If we
refuse to allow access to your personal information, you will be informed and given details of what exemptions
under the Privacy Act prevent its acquisition.
Please
note, a request for access will most probably incur a reasonable fee in providing such a service.
Accuracy
All
reasonable steps are taken to ensure our information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If any information we
have is inaccurate please contact us immediately and we will take all reasonable steps to correct it.
Security
All
information is kept in a secure environment. Electronic security includes the use of fire walls and password
access to designated personnel. This is to ensure personal information is not accessed by unauthorised
personnel, lost or misused.
